3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
QRZone does not use:
- Third-party advertising cookies or retargeting pixels
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Data broker or data marketplace cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.)
This means QRZone does not "sell" or "share" personal information via cookies as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA.
4. QR Code Scan Tracking
When a person scans a QR code created with QRZone, the redirect service collects scan metadata (IP address for geolocation lookup, device type, OS, browser, referrer, timestamp) without setting cookies on the scanner's device. This data is classified as personal information under CCPA and is governed by the retention schedules in our Data Retention Policy and the disclosures in our Privacy Policy.
5. Managing Cookies
5.1 Browser Controls
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using QRZone. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
5.2 Do Not Track
QRZone respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid opt-out of any future sale or sharing of personal information, consistent with CCPA/CPRA requirements. We also honor the "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signal by disabling optional analytics cookies when DNT is enabled.
6. CCPA/CPRA Disclosure
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, cookies that collect personal information (internet activity, device identifiers) must be disclosed. The cookie inventory in Section 2 above constitutes our disclosure. QRZone does not use cookies to sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may exercise their CCPA rights as described in our Privacy Policy, Section 4.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
